When I joined Thursdays at Radio Northwick Park 22 years ago, Vic took me under his wing. Although I had done a little radio before, Vic trained me up and my first ever show was a 'two-part' tribute to Elvis that Vic let me host during his 'Dixieland Country Show'. It's Vic's guidance, support and dedication, that I was able to begin a regular show every Sunday, that I still host today. It is thanks to my early days with Vic at Radio Northwick Park that resulted in my career in radio today. Thank you Vic. It's so sad though, it's the end of an era. Vic was such a good mentor to so many. Our minds will be full of good memories of Vic, someone who truly cared about radio, music and people. May he rest in peace. 🙁

I was so deeply sorry to hear of the passing of one of RNP’s (and subsequently Radio Harrow’s) stalwart volunteers. Though Vic and I were volunteers on different request nights, I was so pleased I got to know him while I was on the committee and through charity and social events. His experience and knowledge was world class; dipping his toes in many genres such as country, jazz and even musical theatre. He was a delight to converse with and no event was ever the same without Vic (and Coral) there. He will be sorely missed.

So sorry to hear of Vic's recent passing. I still remember the old days of the Thursday Night Request Show on RNP when I introduced a segment called, simply, Vic's Joke. Used to introduce it with a air raid warning sound effect , and after his joke, a tumbleweed sound effect and utter silence. He took it all in good heart. A good man who made a fantastic contribution to community radio. RIP Vic.

Such sad news to hear of Vic’s passing. Although I personally wasn’t involved in Radio Harrow my late husband Keith Chilvers was. It was through Keith that I met Vic and his lovely wife Coral at a number of social events. Keith always held Vic in high regard for his knowledge, contribution and professionalism as a radio presenter at the station and as an interesting and lovely gentleman socially. Rest in Peace Vic ❤️

I will remember the very early days of Vics involvement when he came down with Derek Bromberg who was a record librarian at Radio 2. This was in the early 80s so he had been involved with RNP/Radio Harrow since before many of you were born. I last saw him a few years ago when he was still working for TFL at Harrow on the Hill Station.

Really upsetting to hear about Vic's passing. Although I never got to spend much time with him weekly as we were always on different nights, he was always at all the events and meetings and made a point of chatting. He was one of our most dedicated members who i've known since RNP days and he truly cared so much about the station. His longevity and passion here was inspirational. I will definitely miss seeing him, volunteering alongside him and hearing him on air. A huge loss for the station, sending lots of warm wishes and condolences to his friends and family.

I first met Vic on the Thursday Harrow Today Show and then not for a while after because of Covid. Prior to launching my own show Vic was my mentor, inviting me to sit in on his programme and learn how to operate the equipment, whilst also learning other useful tips. He subsequently used to sit in on my show, during which we exchanged banter and humour. He was a very affable and charming man and I'll very much miss my studio buddy. My condolences to Coral and family and may his dear soul rest in peace.

Such sad news to hear of Vic's passing. I have known Vic for many years, meeting him initially during his second stint as a volunteer at Radio Harrow, having been involved during the early years and returning some time later. Vic served on the Committee at the station and was a great source of knowledge for the roles that he filled. Outside of the Committee, at social events, I would often have conversations with him about his career at the BBC and his job pre-retirement as a Station Assistant at Harrow on the Hill station. He had many anecdotes about the commuters a general goings on at Harrow on the Hill and some witty railway themed rhymes that can't be repeated here! Sending my thoughts and condolences to Vic's friends and family.

I’m very sorry to hear of Vic’s passing, and passing on my condolences to his family and friends. Whilst I didn’t know Vic particularly well, he was a long standing, valued member of Radio Harrow and the local community, and his absence will be truly felt as we continue to go on as an organisation. Vic will be truly missed and his life and legacy will not be forgotten. Rest in peace Vic.

What sad news I did not know Vic well but I did know him I fist met him in 1980 when I joined Radio Northwick Park aged 17. Vic was a Producer along with his friend Derek Bromberg of the late John Shaunesseys weekly evening show. Vic was a really nice chap and around for my first year at RNP before leaving The next time we met was years later after I had left to work on various other small commercial stations, I think around 2015 RIP Vic, another fine RNP / Radio Harrow Broadcaster gone too soon Love Ian Daborn

Such sad news; Vic was the first person I met when I started at RNP 24 years ago. May his memory be cherished and remembered. Sending good wishes to the family at this time

I'm so sad to hear of Vic's passing. He always had a cheeky glint in his eye, and a smile to go with it! He was utterly dedicated to this radio station and strived to be the best at his craft! I enjoyed being on the Board of Trustees with him also, as one of his many committee and management board experiences! My condolences to his wife Coral and the rest of his family! "Won't you come along with me, way down to RNP!"

I am so sad to hear about the lovely Vic. I first met Vic when he volunteered at the St Luke’s shop in Kenton. We hit it off straight away. When he found out I’d done some radio stuff he persuaded me to join RNP, and as he was programme controller at the time I got my own show very quickly. We moved onto HCRFM at the same time and he was always the best company. I last saw him bizarrely in M and S food store in Watford. I was so chuffed to bump into him. I now also bitterly regret not popping down to the radio to see him one Thursday. I send my love to Coral and all the family. Bless him. RIP Vic. A splendid fellow. Cheers Steve .
